Frank Zappa (1940 - 1993)

was an american composer, guitarplayer and a fantastic entertainer on stage. Zappa was a workoholic and a mind on his own. He recorded nearly 60 albums and made a world-tour every year for the longest time of his career.

I saw Frank live 11 times. I will never forget these concerts. Even on the same tour the program changed every day.

Here are some articles from newspapers and magazines. Most are in german and related to his death.

This is a ticket from the 1978 Zappa concert at Berlin's Deutschlandhalle. Two tracks of the Sheik Yerbouti Album were recorded during this concert: "Rat Tomago" (which was the guitarsolo of "The Torture Never Stops") and "The Sheik Yerbouti Tango". The concerts at the Deutschlandhalle were always very special.

My Zappa Pictures

Here are some pictures I took at Zappa concerts in Berlin and Hamburg. Yes, they are only b/w, but at that time color was too expensive for me.

See, how poor Frank's heritage is managed. It can't be worse! Well known material is recycled more than once, while so many unpublished recordings and videos are still in Franks vault.
